John Lambourne is a graduate of Cottonwood High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. He earned both his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of Utah. This is his first season as the head coach at Bingham and his 32nd season coaching high school football.
Lambourne’s previous high school football coaching experience includes six seasons at Taylorsville High School, nine seasons at Hunter High School, and one season at Cyprus High School. He began coaching at Bingham in 2000 and was the Miners’ offensive coordinator for 15 seasons before taking over as the head coach this season. John and his wife Tammy are the parents of two daughters, Jessie and Jackie, and two sons, Cole and Clay.
Karl Cloward graduated from Cyprus High School in 1980. During his years in high school, he was first-team all-state in football and basketball, and was recognized as the most outstanding athlete his senior year. This year, Coach Cloward has taken over the defensive coordinator role at Bingham. He has been on the Miner football coaching staff for the past 12 years, previously working with varsity receivers and defensive backs. He and his wife Lynette have three children -Kendal, Kade, Kendzee.
Keith Chatelain is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and moved to Utah in 2005 to start the Tom Shaw SPARQ training program at the Academy. He began coaching the offensive line at Bingham High School in 2006. Coach Chatelain trained with and for Coach Tom Shaw for many years during his entire high school, collegiate and professional career. He played and started four years on the offensive line at the University of Kentucky, and then for the San Francisco 49ers.
Russ Morgan graduated from Cyprus High School where he was a three-year football player. He moved on and played football at Southern Utah University for a year. Coach Morgan graduated form the University of Utah with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and also has an MBA rom Utah. This will be Coach Morgan’s 12th year coaching high school football (Bingham, Hunter, Cyprus) and has also coached 14 years of little league football (Cyprus, Bingham). Russ and his wife Connie have two children – Mckay(16) and Kylie(14).
